President Ron Watson called the meeting to order at 0920 hours.
Present: M. Frazer, R. Moreno, J. Tripp, V. Pena, and M. Bennett
Excused: D. Stone (jury service)

Current Business/ Issues

•Unmarked Vehicle Policy - Watson

The Department Compliance Officer reports amendment to current reporting procedures for applicable personnel. Modified change apparently allows the employee to use the nearest fire department facility as their reporting location. More research will be conducted

The Board continues to pursue this issue and hold as an agenda item.

•The Firefighter’s Bill of Rights (FBOR – AB220) - Moreno

Last month Local 1014, L.A. County Lifeguard Association (LACOLA), and members of the AOC met with Chief Webber to review the Department’s newly drafted policy.

Revisions to the draft policy are expected after stakeholders consult with legal council.

The Board to contact L.A. City’s Chief Officers Association (COA) for background information

•Annual Management Training - Watson

Tentative management training scheduled for June 3 & 4.

Topics: Firefighter Bill of Rights (FBOR – AB220) and administrative skills.

•BC Promotee Luncheon Recap - Watson

Nine of 10 recently promoted battalion chiefs attended the “Welcome Aboard” luncheon and AOC overview at the Monterey Hills Restaurant on March 19.

Chief Officers’ Club President, and recently promoted Deputy Chief, Helen Jo gave a COCoverview to the attendees
